Alterface, the interactive and media-based attraction company, has collaborated with Netflix to create an experience for a first-of-its-kind entertainment venue. Netflix House Dallas opened in Texas, US last year with a Stranger Things: Face the Dark experience, allowing guests to step inside the world of the iconic streaming series. Alterface provided the interactive technology for the experience, supplying 560 devices designed to guide and immerse visitors in the story and environment. Designed with an 80s aesthetic and featuring custom electronics, firmware and software, the technology integrated with other vendors to power the attraction.

The experience is set in Hawkins, Indiana, US, and follows the events at the end of season four of the show. Guests join the search and rescue efforts to uncover the fates of missing citizens. They explore fan-favourite locations including Castle Byers and Eddie Munson’s trailer to search for clues and react to unexpected thrills. “With Stranger Things: Face the Dark, guests actually step into the world of Stranger Things and interact with the story in a way that feels natural and alive," said Stéphane Battaille, CEO of Alterface. "It’s the kind of next-generation immersive experience we strive to create, where technology operates invisibly to support the story.”
