Europa-Park, Germany’s largest theme park, is marking its 50th anniversary in 2025 with a new interactive dark ride inspired by its mascots Ed & Edda. Specifically, the new attraction is themed to the 2025 motion picture Grand Prix of Europe, a co-production between entertainment company Mack Magic and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany. Called ‘Grand Prix Edventure’, the 3D dark ride will be located in Europa-Park’s Luxembourg area and will use Mack Rides’ Gameplay Theater platform, which combines competitive gaming and dark rides in a small space.

Riders will join Ed & Edda’s racing crew and take part in a fast-paced trip across Europe, passing locations from the upcoming film. In addition the film and attraction, Europa-Park is set to release a new video game inspired by Ed & Edda in partnership with video game developer Tivola. The game, titled Ed & Edda: Grand Prix – Racing Champions, brings Ed & Edda to video game format for the first time ever. Players will race across 12 tracks set in landmark European locations.

“With Tivola Games and Jumpgate, we are excited to have strong partners who believe in our Ed & Edda storyworld by bringing the beloved characters to PCs and consoles worldwide,” said Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, earlier this year. This will make the first feature film with the beloved Europa-Park mascots Ed & Edda more than just a movie: together with the new associated family attraction 2025 at Europa-Park, the video game Ed & Edda: Grand Prix – Racing Champions and many other licensed products, it is the start of a very unique transmedia project.

“With our transmedia strategy, we are convinced that we will build a long-term sustainable brand with content based around our characters.” With more than 100 shows and attractions as well as 17 European-themed areas, Europa-Park welcomes more than six million visitors each year."
