Climbing wall attraction specialist Clip ’n Climb has launched a new climbing challenge called Quadra. The new climbing wall offers what it describes as “a stylish refresh” to one of its longest-standing challenges: Red Square, which was designed by John Targett, founder of Clip ‘n Climb. Quadra features yellow and magenta climbing holds against a dark background, which it says enhances both aesthetics and visibility for climbers. “When redesigning Red Square, we knew we wanted to find better, more interesting ways to use existing components to create something that felt both modern and revitalised,” said product designer, Chaz McManus.

“Quadra is part of a larger ongoing project called Challenge Refresh 2025, where we aim to systematically improve and revitalise older challenges from both an aesthetic and production-based perspective. Part of this systematic approach includes an analysis of colour distribution, enabling us to highlight gaps or underrepresented colours within the range. This, combined with user testing and feedback, results in challenges that feel fresh, are interesting to climb and standout amongst their older counterparts; ultimately granting our older challenges with a new lease of life.” The new wall has been classified as a medium difficulty level, which Clip ’n Climb said strikes the perfect balance between approachability and physical engagement.
