Thrill-seekers are now able to fly over one of the world’s most famous landmarks as a virtual VR tour opens in the US. Niagara Virtual takes guests on a breathtaking flight over Niagara Falls, the famous series of three waterfalls that straddles the US and Canada border.

Available to ride at the newly-opened Rainbow Air Tourism Center, the attraction has been created in partnership with Frontgrid, which combines motion-based engineering with immersive content.
Tammy Owens, business development director and producer for Frontgrid said “Blending immersive virtual reality, gamification and motion-based engineering, the experience gives guests a chance to explore Niagara Falls from a whole new perspective - under canopy, in first person and entirely under their own control.” Matt Wells, CEO of Frontgrid, commented: “What we’re seeing here is a perfect example of how attractions can evolve by combining innovative tech with a globally recognised destination. Location-based flying is proving itself to be both a crowd-puller and a profitable format, and Niagara Virtual is a shining example of what’s possible.” In the attraction visitors can race for points or simply enjoy the view, with progress tracked on a global leaderboard.
