KMG Rides' Lunarix, a 24-meter-high swinging ride with 16 individual free-spinning gondolas, is set to debut next year. "We used the original idea of our Inversion ride and began to sketch from there," explains Amy Kroon, KMG Rides head of after-sales project support.
“We wanted more capacity but also to make the ride easier to set up and with fewer parts to maintain.” The Lunarix is transport-able on a single semi-trailer and can be set up without a crane. It features newly designed seats that spin sideways, instead of flipping back and forth. The ride does require water for ballast and has a lower power consumption than its predecessors.
